The Benefits of Installing Motorised Blinds

The idea of installing motorised blinds may not appeal to everyone and may not have even occurred to others but the fact remains that installing motorised blinds in either a home design space or an office has many interesting benefits.

Motorised blinds, despite what some might think, are not for people who are simply too lazy to go over to the blinds and open or close them by hand. Some designs of blinds are such that they actually require motorised assistance in order to open or raise them, and close them (lower them). These types of blinds are often made from heavier materials or are very large, making manual operation either too slow or impractical.

Design Possibilities for Motorised Blinds

Installing motorised blinds brings with it many different design possibilities. Anyone who is faced with the daunting task of providing window treatments to floor to ceiling picture windows or bay windows will love the idea of installing motorised blinds. In these examples the motorised blinds can be controlled remotely, making the opening and closing of them effortless.

Motorised blinds can also be connected to a timer that will regulate when specifically the blinds are opened or closed. These timers can further be enhanced with modern technology including light sensors that can measure the amount of light coming in and then close or open the blinds accordingly. These highly sensitive sensors can also determine the height and direction of the sun and in turn set the blinds to allow maximum light with minimum UV transmission.
